Fri, 21 August 2009 An interview with Tamar Granor, Doug Hennig and Rick Schummer regarding Southwest Fox 2009, coming up in October in Mesa, Arizona.
Discussions range from choice of sessions, VFPX, new speakers and sponsors and the state of FoxPro development.

Sun, 5 April 2009 When speaking about VFPx at last year's Southwest Fox conference, it became evident that there aren't a lot of avenues for finding out how to use various pieces of VFPx. So I'm creating videos designed to showcase VFPx components, starting with the Control Renamer.
If you have ever wanted to rename a control in a class or form but were hesitant because of missing other code references, the Control Renamer is definitely a tool you want to try.
Now, there are lots of areas where new options can be added into this tool - but they are primarily "extras" like setting color settings or some logging.
Check it out below!

Wed, 7 January 2009 Welcome to the first show of 2009 . On today's show: 1. Discussion about Rod Paddock's What's In a Title post.2. Designing Databases with Andy Kramek. 3. What's new at VFPX. 4. Interview with John Koziol Comments[1] |
Sat, 25 October 2008 From Southwest Fox 2008 in Mesa Arizona, here is the audio from my Profiling and Refactoring session.
In it, we discuss what refactoring is and what it isn't and how the VFPX Code Analyst helps make refactoring easier in Visual FoxPro.
We also discuss how to best use the Log file generated from the VFP Coverage Profiler. Comments[0] |
Thu, 23 October 2008 Here's another "discussion" from Southwest Fox, all about how developers get the most out of their day and, er, shower.
Discussion with Cathy Pountney, Mike Yeager, Alan Stevens, Art Bertquist, Andrew MacNeill and others.
Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Thu, 23 October 2008 I didn't want to do a full show on this little interview but wanted to put it into the stream because I think it's really valuable for developers to hear.
It's a discussion Alan Stevens and I had one morning at Southwest Fox 2008. It was held after his talk on Agile and I had some specific questions we wanted to get into. There is some background noise as we were talking outside at the breakfast table.
If you've never heard Alan speak, this is a great way of getting a feel for his sessions.

Sat, 18 October 2008 At SWFox, there are a number of great sessions going on, most of which have the "please do not record or tape" - however, some, like this one, were open for all and everyone was told "you are on the Internet". This show is the entirety of the VFPX Meeting session - a session hosted by Craig Boyd, Bo Durban, Rick Schummer and myself about how the community can get better involved with VFPX itself and some other suggestions at the type of things the community wants to see. Audio is a conference room is tough - but I've tried to increase it where needed so you can hear the people in the back row. Enjoy Comments[0] |

Wed, 30 July 2008 This episode features an interview with Tamar Granor, Doug Hennig and Rick Schummer about their plans for Southwest Fox, the FoxPro developer conference coming up in October, 2008 in Mesa Arizona. Hear about the great prizes, sessions and what went into the planning of this year's conference. As discussed in the interview, here is a link to Tamar's blog post about how she builds the schedule. Also, I mentioned Jing - a handy (and free!) little tool from Techsmith for screen captures and screen casting (in Flash!). Enjoy! Comments[0] |

Mon, 18 June 2007 Show #42 is packed full, coming in at about 34 minutes, mostly with interviews with William Sanders, who is preparing for an upcoming meeting for the New York FoxPro SIG in early July and with Doug Hennig and Rick Schummer, two of the three organizers for this year's Southwest Fox 2007, letting us know what they have planned for the conference, what they are excited about in Sedna and more. And hey, if your boss doesn't want to send you to Southwest Fox, Rick Schummer is offering to have a word with him/her! More info is available <a href='http://www.foxforward.net">here</a>. The conference looks really good with a wide variety of sessions covering basic development techniques, Ajax and FoxPro, GDI+ along with some real "case study" type sessions on FoxPro and Wireless from John Harvey at the Shelby Co. Sheriff's office and Bill Sanders filling everyone in on how CollegeCon is going ( the VFP Intern project). Take a listen! All comments to foxshow@gmail.com. Comments[1] |

Wed, 25 January 2006 Welcome to 2006 - what a late start in the year for the FoxShow but what a great interview we have with Doug Hennig, Rick Schummer and Craig Boyd all about SednaX, the Visual FoxPro community development project and how you can get involved.
Also noted in the show: And I almost forgot - OzFoxRocks! Episode #2 Note: the audio may sound a bit strange in this show as I'm testing out a new device called RapidVoip and am not so sure on it - but would LOVE to hear your feedback.

Mon, 21 November 2005 One of the goals I've had for a long time is to try and keep the show under 30 minutes - ideally around twenty. As listeners know, this is incredibly difficult with interviews that typically last that long.
So what do you think? Should I separate interviews into their own "show" ( a la BuzzOutLoud model) and thus keep the shows down in length or keep them all in one big show.
It may really depend on your player. For example, when I use the Creative Muvo, it keeps track of where I am with each show and thus when I stop and restart, it picks up right where I left off. Other devices may not be so lucky.
Let me know.
